Lets look at it from a technical standpoint.  Romans/Jews were "responsible" for Jesus's death, who himself was a Jew, who also had Jewish followers.  But utimately it was the Romans who handed down the sentence.  Me thinks, from a political standpoint, that if Jesus were allowed to continue his preaching and gain power, the Romans/High Priests will not want that.

Whats all the fuss these guys are making about Jews killing Jesus.  Jews have been persecuted and hated throughout history, so they dont really care who killed Jesus.  They hate Jews anyways

Because it says that the Jews were responsable for Jesus's death. This was
officially recanted in Vaticant II but Gibson belongs to a sect that doesn't
  accept that.
Historically, there are problems with the Jews being to blame. The fact that
the Romans ruled the country and controled everything is the first. The
second is that IF the last supper was the passover supper, then the next day
was passover day and the Jewish court is NOT allowed to meet. A few of these
minor technical difficulties exists, but not really important.

  > Not to get into a pissing match with you, Mike, but isn't the movie
supposed to be Biblically (New Testament) correct? Why is there a problem
with this by the Jewish population if it is?
