to get away with being a shit to your parents and not having your ass
busted.
Because if you can treat your parents like shit imagine how you treat
the rest of the world. I am sure some people will scream out NOOO that
is so wrong yadda yadda blab blab. I know busting his lip is only
treating the symptoms and not the problem (grin) but still really is no
excuse. My dad is creeping up on 60 and i would never raise my voice to
him or be a smart ass i'm 25 and STILL don't want to cuss in front of
him or my mother. My dad only hit me once and it was just a 2 handed
shove after i did something VERY VERY wrong and i was scared to death,
never did it again. A parent can still put the fear of god into their
kids if they really want to lol.
The funny thing was my dad was not the disciplinarian either my mother
filled that role and my dad occasionally stepped in lol.
Well i do not know how you will solve the problem but i also thought
maybe shutting him out and saying don't come until you have a better
attitude but i think that would not work it would only give another
excuse to get even more depressed etc so i think you can scratch that
one off the list. Hopefully you will find the solution and share it
with us so we all can benefit from the experience and wisdom.

BenD-
He's having problems talking with me about anything but trivial stuff
even when he's not depressed. He thinks it's ok to be really rude to me.
I don't like it.
re: the mind meld - can't get past the force field ;-)
but thanks for the advice, will see what I can do - or maybe "Mom"
can...
