Because the checks are not security checks. They are tit-for-tat, I am angry at you for doing it to me checks.

Which is certainly within their rights, but is very 2nd grade, I think.

And isn't it the 2nd grade schoolyard actions of the Bush administration that, more than anything else, gets everyone all worked up?

If we are granting a person a visa to travel in our country have we
not only the right but the responsibility to track and fingerprint these
people?  How else can we enforce our immigration laws, much less our
security issues?
