for about $3000 (which compared to most weddings, is nothing). We saved
money by:
1. Doing the decorations ourselves
2. Having a small wedding party
3. Using flowers from our garden (with a pro designer who supplemented with
flowers from her garden, too).
4. Doing a buffet meal, instead of a served meal.
5. Providing free beer and pop, but having a cash bar for everything else.
6. Having a smaller wedding cake, supplemented with a variety of
mini-desserts.
7. Not spending a fortune on the dress (I know someone who spent as much on
her dress as we spent on the whole wedding).
8. Using one venue for the whole thing (a masonic temple).
