@davidhassell , @sethmcg : I think it may be possible to have auxiliary coordinate bounds for a cell which is missing it's central value, but I don't think the question if really relevant here in either case. The `missing_value` and the `_FillValue` should apply to both the auxiliary coordinate and to the bounds, and be specified as attributes of the auxiliary coordinate variable. I don't think this requires any modification of Jonathan's suggested text, or is there some objection that I am missing?
