Another alternative would be to have the broadcaster control the stream and
insert their ads at the appropriate time.

| I've only done this with RealPlayer streaming - I don't think Flash will do
| the trick, even communicator, for live streaming. The video quality to file
| size ratio isn't there (let the flames commence).
|
| If you used RealPlayer you could use RealOne and use CF to place the ads in
| the HTML space. Or use SMIL and generate the SMIL dynamically.
|
| A Windows Media or Quicktime solution would work in a similar manner.

| Subject: Internet Streaming Question.....
|
|
| Hello everyone,
|
| I've been approached by a T.V. station in my hometown to provide them
| with a live streaming solution for their local TV news broadcast. However
| they cannot display the advertisements that are on TV and would rather do
| web advertisements in Flash instead (Since I suggested the Flash
| Communicator streaming solution for them...)...
|
| I wanted to see if anyone out there has ever done something like this for a
| TV station and see if anyone had any ideas as to how to implement the
| advertisements into the stream in place of the TV Commercials. I thought
| about layers, but not sure this is the best route.
|
| I'd like to have an automatic system, as I don't really want to be there
| twice per night editing video :)
|
| Can anyone out there provide me with suggestions as to how this could be
| done?
|
| Thanks,
| Pablo
