These are serious concerns about how this new 'feature' will impact if (when 
?!?) it is applied to server products, and they don't seem to have been 
addressed anywhere.

To summerise the main one playing on my mind:
1) Once registered, what happens if there is a DNS or other problem that 
prevents the deamon phoning home or successfully talking to MM? Will the 
server be shut down ?
2) Why is the license store written outside the file system ? Is it removed 
when the product is uninstalled ?

If this were to appear in the ColdFusion server[*], I think it would be one of 
*very few* UNIX applications to phone home in this way (post-install). There 
is probably a reason why few if any others do it.
