So, the answer to your question is "No". Once activated, your software does
not need to be online (it is a one time process).

license are written to the registry, while others are written to a
location on the hard drive in a secure location outside the normal
file system to avoid invalidating the product through accidental
deletion of the license.

The license manager software is removed upon un-install of the product.
