Ian, thanks for the response.  What the client is looking for is a way to 
display the contents of a case file (letters, scanned summaries of phone 
conversation notes, etc.) in chronological order so that they can scroll 
through it w/o opening one doc at a time.  To me, it's a bit of a stretch but 
right now it's a requirment unless I can persuade them that it's not worth the 
overhead involved.

Your frames idea might work if they want to look at a few at a time - not sure 
if it would work well with lots of docs.
