Thanks for the recommendation, Josh...I've been using MySQL for several years and I think Navicat is indispensable!
Very easy, powerful, and as you say, very much worth the cost. I love the automated database backup feature, too. It's $99 I think but well worth it. Allows you to manage your dbs and data with amazing efficiency. You can check it out at http://www.navicat.com. -- Josh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Faircloth" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Talk" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 11:16 AM Subject: RE: ACME Approach to Installation > Thanks, Josh...that's exactly the information I've been asking for. > I plan to try out an Apache / CF7 / DW8 environment. > > And, yes, I'd rather spend $300 - $500 dollars on a server OS > that is simple to setup and administer (like a Windows OS) > than spend $1000 worth of billable time trying to sort out how > to make Linux work... > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Josh Nathanson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 1:37 PM > To: CF-Talk > Subject: Re: ACME Approach to Installation > > Rick, I use the ACME setup on my dev box/laptop, except using DW instead > of > Eclipse (so I guess it's ACMD), and it works great for me. > > I would see what folks have to say about using Linux instead of Windows > for > your production box, you'll need to think about if you want to bite off > that > chunk. > > -- Josh > > > > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:243978 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
