I know when we looked at BD.NET it was/is that our CMS is in .NET and all our plugins will be in .NET. It was potentially a way to keep old ColdFusion code and also use .NET. The consensus however was - why bother with ColdFusion at all we may as well do it all in .NET.
The internet is in a battle - J2EE and .NET and if you read between the lines, .NET is winning. All this fancy crap (Flex) which Adobe is pumping out of the stable instead of fixing issues and competing is only driving more and more people to .NET. <above is an opinion :> "This e-mail is from Reed Exhibitions (Oriel House, 26 The Quadrant, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DL, United Kingdom), a division of Reed Business, Registered in England, Number 678540. There is no way anyone could possibly research every reason each company does what decision, but the few that have been mentioned have been that they are moving to BlueDragon.NET to transition completely to .NET, so as I said, it was my opinion.
