What does "priced right" mean? Does it mean optimal profitability? And
in any case, why would you expect one IDE to get such a large share
when lots of people are already happy with other IDEs or editors? That
kind of primacy doesn't exist anywhere I've seen except the .NET world
where, surprise surprise, most .NET developers use Visual Studio as
far as I can tell. But CF Builder is no Visual Studio, which is aimed
at building any kind of .NET program you can think of - console apps,
desktop apps, Windows Mobile 6 apps, etc, etc.

My forecast is that I'm 98% likely to make a snide remark about how
econ 101 should be a mandatory course if this thread continues. But in
all seriousness, presumably the people at Adobe have put more thought
into their product pricing than you or I have.

Imagine that some guy on the internet were to tell you how to price
your services. Not someone with any demonstrated expertise in your
field, mind you, just someone who has a vague idea of how your
business works. Would you take that advice?

Now, of course, that is exactly what you're doing, isn't it? I'm
presuming here that you don't have any experience selling non-custom
desktop software intended for the developer market, where your target
is to sell multiple thousands of copies - if I'm wrong about that, I
apologize in advance. Adobe does have some experience in that field,
of course, what with Creative Suite, Flash Builder, LiveCycle
Designer, etc, etc.
