Surprise, I can use ColdFusion Builder to develop to a degree, .Net
applications. There is a plujgin for Eclipse to do that. Might not be 5% of
the real thing, but hey its there.

Secondly, Adobe have built this on existing technology that without it
ColdFusion Builder would be nothing.

Not to mention that Aptan provides a lot of what Adobe didn't have to write
as well, which means that a good 80% of the product is not Adobes code. What
is left, in my eyes may be a time saver if the features actually worked
reliably.

Is it worth the $299.00, not in my eyes. Even after looking at the feature
matrix for ColdFusion Builder doesn't pursuade that on me either.

Granted, they have put a lot of work into some areas of the IDE. But a lot
of that has been fixing problems and getting it to play nice too. So you
can't compare the man hours to get an acurate price either.

Adobe spent a good 12 months just trying to get the actual Aptana editor to
actual be faster, if they wrote it themselves like CFEclipse did then they
wouldn't have spent that amount if time on the product.

So if we compare the man hours gone into the project, my question is should
we pay for their bad mistakes and.or choices?
