This is funny, because there is a non-unsizeable camp in the OO world

would just love to ignore databases and serialize all their objects a
nd
their data.  Yum yum.

Ewww. That's what Spectra does, you know. In any case, the advantages
 of
relational databases are discarded when you do this - you're effectiv
ely
denormalizing your data. In general, within transactional application
s, this
is a very bad, bad thing, although it does potentially have some appe
al for
content-management apps.
