How hard is it to get MySQL working on NT?
- Not too hard using MyOdbc, but you have to set it up in the ODBC control
panel (NOT in the CF administrator)
How hard is it to get CF working with MySQL? I can't seem to find anything
on the CF website about this.
-- Again, create the System DSN in the ODBC control panel, and you will
(probably) need to use a username and password in all of your <Cfquery> tags
Is it possible to convert a MySQL database to MS Access? Would I want to do
this?
-- Yes, you could dump to a file and import from a file, not pretty but
doable.
Is MySQL any better than MS Access?
-- In some ways yes. Fast selects for sure, but no referential constraints
(foreign keys), although I hear the newest version impliments them. Still,
MySQL is more of an RDBMS than Access, which is file based.
