I think what Dave meant is that you have no way of knowing if CF had
checked the spool between the time of the 0 byte email going in there and
it being deleted by the cron job. If it did, then it would have gotten
unstable so as a precaution he suggests restarting the service if there
were 0 byte emails. Either that or the presence of a 0 byte email in itself
means that the CF service became unstable...

BTW, what causes the 0 byte emails in the spool anyway?
