No comment :-)). That is impression I get wrt APL, legacy and price though.

If we look at the situation logically, APL came first and was
revolutionary. But it had some things about it that were not quite
right. Then J came along without those things and with a whole bunch
more stuff. So that means that the only reason to choose APL over J is
due to legacy or irrationally. Such as deciding that expensive is best
or believing that it won't be around for very long due to lack of
funding - although it has not been disclosed on this thread how much
income the consulting generates so we cannot make that assumption at
this stage.
