Ian, thank you for your polite correction of my dyslexic spelling of 
Ken (as he introduced himself - perhaps honoring KEI) Saigusa's 
name... It is somehow wired wrong in my brain - funny how things like 
that happen. I would be interested in reading the article you 
reference if anyone has a copy they can share.

One of my more embarrassing (hence fond/amusing) personal memories is 
of walking from Saigusa's home to a trout fishery in Sagamihara where 
I was clearly the worst fisherman of several hundred people happily 
catching their next meal. Finally, with the help of a fellow standing 
next to me (who spoke not a single word of English), I managed to 
snag a trout. Then we had a pleasant walk back and enjoyed a 
wonderful BBQ over home made coals of bamboo. I was also delighted to 
attend an open house at his son's high school, getting a glimpse into 
things that tourists rarely see. He was a very gracious host.
