Comfortable? No. Not at all. In fact, I don't think I've ever cruised 70mph with my Chevelle w/ a 4:10 rear. At 50mph, I'm doing about 2800rpm, 60mph is about 3100rpm. That's about the limit for cruising for me anyway.

If I were you, and you do 70mph cruising a lot, I'd go with the 3:50's or max 3.73's...or, like I'm going to do someday, get an overdrive tranny, which will drop that rpm real nice, yet still get the acceleration of the 4:10's...

Subject: [Chevelle-List] 4.10 gears

I currently have 3.08 gears in my 10 bolt, and I keep seeing alot of people running 4.10's.  What kind of rpm's does that give you at freeway speeds??  Is your car "comfortable" doing 70 mph on the freeway with these?  I was thinking of 3.50's, but if the rpm's aren't too bad, maybe I'll go 4.10's.
BTW- I have a 2400 stall, and I'm running 295/50/15 tires.

Thanx, Trevor
