Hey Tom -
Are you sure your speedo and tach are reading right? My Chevelle has the
same rear tire size with a 3.42 gear (car sees lots of highway time) and I'm
seeing 2950rpm @65mph with a Holeshot 2400 converter behind the 406. I figure a
4.10 gear in my car would come in around 35-3600rpm which is what the other list
members are seeing with their cars. I can't vouch for the absolute accuracy of
my tach (Auto Meter Sport Comp 5" Monster), but it is relatively new and my
speedo was calibrated by the trans shop when they installed the TH400 two years
ago. I don't think I'm getting any extra slippage with that converter at that
rpm because the cruise rpm was the same with my old TH350 trans and
off-road/heavy duty converter (tighter than stock). Anyway, I was just curious.
