Hi everyone,

Starting to think about replacing the exhaust system on my 69 SS.
Currently it has stock big block exhaust manifolds, 2.5" engine pipes,
2.5" tail pipes & a pair of non-stock mufflers (don't know the
manufacturer, but I do know that they are not Flowmasters, but they have
the same case footprint as the 40 series 2-chamber Flowmasters and they
are pretty much as loud).

While, I'm leaning towards going with a similar setup (using a pair of
stock 2.5" engine pipes along with a pair of Flowmaster 2-chamber 2.5"
mufflers & tailpipes), the 1969 stock chambered exhaust system setup
caught my eye in both the Year one and OPG catalogs. Given that I've
never heard one of these systems, I was curious as to what kind of tone
they have & how loud they are. Anybody have any firsthand experience
with owning (or even just hearing) this setup?

        Thanks in advance,

        Jim -SS396- H.
