So I'm gapping my plugs outside under the car port when I momentarily go
inside for a phone call and all of the sudden....... I here a loud shower
door bang! or at least that's what I think? Anyway I'm thinking.. too loud
to be inside???......... So I go outside to look at the 6:30pm rush hr.
traffic in front of my house and all I can see is my friends 55 chevy panel
wagon who owns a body shop for classic cars down the street, who just
finished restoring this car.....there it was parked in the middle of the
street and, what appears to be a ford aero star facing his passenger door
on the crossing street. I walk over almost night time sky! and as I
approach closer and closer I'm starting to realize the whole front end of
the chevy was smashed head on and my buddy is pi$$ed!!! along with his
daughter standing on the side walk area
As it turns out the Ford was signalled to cross over by the traffic at
the last minute, so the guy precedes and not seeing the black chevy coming
up the street until the last minute, he floors it!!!!! All to late and to
sad to say......the 55 chevy clipped the right rear qtr. panel with out
even having the chance to apply the all new 4-wheel disc brakes causing the
van to go into a complete 180 on to the other side of the road it was
crossing. Thank God know one got hurt but I sure hate seeing that 55 chevy
all smashed up in the front area which by the way use to belong to the
front of my 55 chevy at one point. The no speaking English Aerostar driver
could only come up with some type of ins. that read "Contractors Ins" &
that sure didn't sound like car ins to me? Anyway we didn't get the car out
of the road until 8:30pm. After waiting and waiting for the tow truck we
said, screw it!!!!!! We hooked up the positive cable wire back on to the
starter and drove back to the bodyshop and that was my exciting day for a
chevelle spark plug gap day!!!
