brad:
bummer! my mother in law (80) just was in a serious accident. she made a left turn across two lanes of traffic. witnesses have come forward and said she had waited over 5 minutes. it seems that no one was coming and two morons in ricers were racing each other came out of no where. (even with witnesses and the driver who hit her admitting he was speeding no ticket was issued). the claims adjuster (mother in laws insurance) told me they were going to pay because she gave up her rights when she made a turn into oncoming traffic. i immediately asked her if she had talked to witnesses, the police officer and the other driver. her answer was no. i told her hey don't you even think about doing that until you talk to them. after she talked to all she made the decision that my mother in law was only 50% at fault. probably if her reaction time was quicker it wouldn't of happened. if i hadn't stepped up to bat for her the insurance company would have just paid off. damn insurance com!
panies don't always look out for their clients. in this case the adjuster was assuming because of the law and just plain lazy.
