I've been looking for a truck for daily transportation for about a month. A late el camino would be my first choice, but the few that I've found have been hacked. So I'm leaning towards an extended cab mini-truck. But, I came acrossed a nice regular cab full size chevy yesterday. 4.3 V-6/automatic, leather interior (good things) and 79,000 miles (not so good). Questions for the group: 1 - Is the V-6 a reliable motor that will last another 70K miles without problem?? ( I know that its 3/4 of a 350 ) Question 2 - Is a reg cab full size gonna be as practical as I want?? I had a mini truck (reg cab) that I loved except when I had a passenger & had to go for groceries etc - no storage is a pain. There doesn't appear to be any more storage in the reg cab full size. Do I keep looking for a low mileage extended cab? My problem is, my vehicles (even a daily driver) has to have some special appeal to me. The V-6 mazda/fords sound like sewing machines, 4 cylinders are underpowered. Any recommendations.
