  Questions for the group:
1 - Is the V-6 a reliable motor that will last another 70K miles
without problem?? ( I know that its 3/4 of a 350 )

I have a 3.4L V6 in my Astro Van. I have over 100,000 miles on it now
and no signs of slowing down. No burning oil, no noticeable loss of
power, and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and take a long trip in it, or
continue to pull my boat with it.

Some people say that cars don't last as long these days, not sure if
that's true or not, but this van is flying in the face of those that say
that if so. I think it has a LOT to do with how you take care of them. I
have always changed oil regularly and GM cars have treated me well
overall in recent years.

Shortly after the warrantee expired I decided to try some synthetic oil
because I heard so much good about it. I actually NOTICED a difference
right away! It was the middle of the winter and I KNOW how long it takes
to stop shivering in a cold van. Believe me I stayed cold a lot longer
after changing oil. While that's not comfortable, it tells me there is a
lot less friction going on.

I had them put Valvoline Durablend in. A mix of half synthetic and half
regular oil. I have switched back and forth to full synthetic to
durablend a few times, but always will have synthetic in all my cars
from now on.
