Yes -- after you've put everything back together and had the engine running,
re-check all the intake bolts after a few days. They do tend to loosen up
initially.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] Tips on intake manifold gasket

I have decided to put on a new Edelbrock carb on my poorly running '71 454.
This is the car that as it turned out had a carb on it that was shown to be
for a 1972 chevy 350 pickup! Anyway, I want to replace the intake manifold
gasket at the same time but have never done so. I have the service manual
and it shows the torque sequence and the torque at 30 ft pounds. Any tips
or suggestions on this gasket replacement?
