Why instead? I use both. I'm not a big silicone-only fan.

This is true any time you are torque-ing something that has a lot of bolts &
surface area (like heads, x-mans, etc.).

it.  If possible, rotate motor to Top dead center (timing marks aligned) so
you know exactly where it is

If it's not possible, you have bigger problems than an intake gasket. Always
do this. Good advice.
