I'm a big silicone-only fan. I've used silicone only for years. Any time I've ever used the rubber end gaskets I've had leaks. I tried silicone on the rubber gaskets once.....when I torqued the manifold down the rubber gaskets squirted out from under it like they had been greased....had to take it apart and lose the rubber end gaskets.
