Steve, I have seen explanations of points about a Thousand times and I have to say none better than yours, I know how they work and I enjoyed reading every bit. Your right about HEI, but I leave the points in my distributor, gives me an excuse to tinker with my car! I still have my engine analyzer that I bought in 1973. I put about One Thousand miles or less a year on my car. Every spring I still put new Points, Plugs, and condenser in it, to me it's still fun to do!
