i have in fact removed,restored,,rewired and replaced 66 dashes twice.i agree that"hanging by the wiring may be an extreme description.
i also know that wrestling a dash on a covered steering column can easily lead to damage at least chipped paint.as for the articles at aces i pointed tim in that direction earlier in the thread as i have pointed others on this list in the past so the only mystery seems to be
