I work in the largest glass plant in the world and the prime ingredient in
making glass is silica sand. Twenty five years ago when I worked in the rail
dock unloading sand cars,we weren't aware of the dangers of silicosis and
often didn't wear respirators. The effects take a long time to show up and
are worse than emphysema.
Breathing that dust is bad news,folks. Wear the proper safety gear when
sandblasting.
