Kurt, I had the kind of the same problem with my 67 Elky a couple of weeks ago. A few times on the way to work one day it just flat died - no juice anywhere. Started right back up and got me to work. Leaving, it quit just at the end of the parking lot and never regained conciousness. Turned out the main feed into the fuze box (firewall side) had finally corroded through. Replaced that single wire and it's back on the road. Probably needs new wiring too, sigh!
