Graham,

I would recommend that you get your wiring harness from M&H
(wiringharness.com) because they will run down a list with you of options
that the car has (manual or electric choke, A/C, internal regulator, etc.)
and make sure that you get the right thing.

You may also want to invest in a portable ignition box. I have one and it's
the greatest. I have been running my El Camino off of one. I haven't
installed the new wiring harnesses yet and the old ones were cut out. the
ignition box is also a lifesaver if you ever get stuck with an ignition
problem. I don't remember who made mine but I'll get the name off of it this
weekend when I'm working on the car.

Any comments?

Ok, I realize that there is one flaw; the (+) alternator wire goes the
unswitched + on starter or battery, but does the distributor plug up to
small side?

Howdy,

So, we had a quick discussion about wiring; which brings to me ask this:

I would like to fire up my freshly built 383, but I need to rework the
existing engine compartment wiring OR purchase a new engine wiring hardness
from OPG.

I have a remote starter button; so with that connected to each side of the
starter (big and small connectors), with the big end connected to the (+) on
the battery, and the smaller side connected to the (+) of the alternator and
distributor, the car should start and run, right? Running maybe another
matter, depending if the motor got built right (please lord), but is the
'connectivity' correct to start and maintain juice?

Are there any other connections that I have to worry about? I can't think
of any. Please let me know if with the above connectivity situation is OK or
if Graham will be electrocuted. HAR HAR.

-Graham.
