During tuning new engines lean or rich fuel/air  mixtures
can cause hot spots in excess of 1300F, this is one reason if you are not
careful you can damage headers ( coated).
Also ignition timing is very critical to exhaust temperatures which are not
reflected by the water temp gauge ex 190f on gauge 1300f internal exhaust
and higher, during this period use a large floor fan to cool entire engine
and headers  this is what Jet hot coating recommends, I did it and had no
problem!!!!! 541hp LS-6
