After Tom's post, I am not convinced that it is actually coming from the pan gasket. Before fooling with that again, I am going to check the O-rings he mentioned, one of which is for the speedo gear. Right now I don't even have a speedo cable hooked up. Could it be coming from there?

That's a pretty long way for the drip to travel, since the speedo gear is in the tailshaft housing. My first thought is that it could be the torque converter seal on the trans leaking down the bellhousing on to the pan mounting flange. If you know anyone in your area who could dye check it for you, that would be the best way to find it. Having the cable off or attached will have nothing to do with a leak--the cable doesn't have a seal or gasket.
