For anyone that is/was considering buying a GMPP 572, you may want to think about it a little more. While on the Power Tour I had the chance to witness and video tape the Mother's 67 El Camino on a chassis dyno.
Before the El spun the dyno, there was a TV crew taping a segment for what I assume was Hot Rod TV. They kept interviewing the owner and redoing the takes to get it just right. In the end, the 572 could only muster up 460 hp to the wheels on the first attempt and then a dismal 406 hp on the second attempt. Not only did the 572 disappoint everyone watching, the GM rep that happened to be there was fumbling for excuses! I would hope with more in car tuning, the hp number will increase.
