Try Dale's site http://www.chevellestuff.com/index.htm click on 1966 Chevelle, then Generic tech info, then axle codes/ratios. That oughta fix you up.

Guys/Gals, Im contemplating getting a new rear for my 66, and wondered if any of you might have a guess as to what the standard rear was for a car like mine? It was originally a 283 car w/powerglide. If anyone can provide a guess, or tell me how to identify the rear in the car w/o having to tear it open, Id really appreciate it. Its currently a 10-bolt I know that for sure. Regards, Jim
