   I am in final planning for my new garage. Gonna be a 24x36x10
D-I-Y pole barn. I'm buying attic/storage trusses for the front &
rear 12 feet. Then scissor trusses for the middle 12, give me enough
overhead room for a lift IF I can ever swing it.

   I'm stuck on what to do for garage doors. 2 9x8's or 1 16x8???
(BTW - gonna have a 9x8 back door too). I'm thinking that 16x8 will
be easier for entry & exit and PROBABLY more practical. Any thoughts
on that?      Thanx.

=====================
I must be the odd man out... I removed a single 18 foot door and ..replaced it with 2 single doors...

....Why...?
Simple .... the door could not be "fully" opened when I had a car up on the lift...close but no cigar..unless I shoved the lift all the way to the rear... Both My garages are 24 foot deep.... if you make your garage
28 or 30 foot deep then it cane be done...

Long Story short..... I replaced all 5 of my garage doors with roll up doors (like those found on loading docks..)...they take up absolutely no room inside the garage..(ok ..one (1) foot maybe)...

 My Suggestions...

1.go 12 foot high...if possible ...never know when you discover the need vs the want for a lift..and it takes 12 foot to get my wives Mini Van all the way up...)

2. Push the rear wall back another 4 foot if possible to allow the garage to be 28 foot deep...

Just the opinions of a old retired car nut...(retired from work not cars)
