I kind of mingled this into my "stupid Chevelle tricks" email but I am also looking for recommendations for a transmission. I am thinking about a 2004R only because IIRC the 7004R requires modifications to the trans tunnel, and I don't want to do that. I would also be happy to be able to use my stock driveshaft if possible. What about a Tremec? Any recommendations are welcome. This is going to be a small block car and I don't plan on racing anybody. I mainly want overdrive for better gas mileage and a more comfortable cruising rpm.
