No, I was saying that any time somebody comes from out of
state and wants to know if they can drive it away the same day, it's always a
scam. It would
be very tough to line up a transport company for the same day anyway, unless
you were willing to pay the trucker even if the deal fell through. You would have
to go there knowing in advance that you were buying the car no matter what. In NY they
don’t have titles for cars this old. When I register my '70 they will ask me to
surrender the title. To register a car like this here, you need the original
registration certificate signed by the previous owner, and a bill of sale. That's
why you are supposed to leave a copy of your registration and not the original
in the car. -----Original
Message----- Laws to change state to state but.....Why couldn't you do a
transaction in one day ? I flew to Corona, California-gave the guy cash-he gave
me the title and I had transport company load the vehicle. What's so
difficult about that ? Registering a car may trigger insurance but titling a
car shouldn't as a title is only showing proof of ownership . I don't
think there is a law that states you can't own a car and not drive it.My
insurance company gives me 30 days to insure a new vehicle. Larry
