John,

Yes, I agree, committed to quick but had been looking for that combination for so long I did not want to loose it. I will add that to the thousands of life experiences I have had to learn from. The bad thing is that I have made some of them more than once. Wish I had the time and talent to do it myself, unfortunately if I had to wait on the time I would never have one.

Sorry to hear that Steve. I hope you didn't lose a lot on the deposit. It seemed like you committed to that deal pretty quickly.

One advantage to buying old wrecks and fixing them yourself is that at least you know that the quality of work that went into it is acceptable by your own standards.

Well ,made the trip to Louisiana to pick up the Chevelle I put deposit on. Totally not as represented and not what the guy I hired to look at it for me represented. Car had loads of issues and for the money I was going to spend it would have taken that much more to get it right. Backed out, lost deposit, have to start over. Twelve hours behind the windshield really did not help either.

Still looking for a 69 SS, LeMans Blue (1st preference, not as choosy now), 4-speed.

If anyone knows of one I would apprciate you letting me know.

Thanks for your help.
