I wouldn't use baby bath on a chi puppy...may an older one, but not a
puppy. As a general rule, chis should not be bathed more than twice a year as a
routine and otherwise only when absolutely necessary. Chi coats excrete an oil
that protects their naturally dry skin. Bathing gets rid of these oils. I have
noticed, however, with my chis, that they love to find the filthiest, dirtiest
stuff they can and just ROLL in it. When they do, naturally I have to bathe
them. Otherwise, a pet wipe (they look a lot like baby wipes but are specially
made for pets) can be used for routine cleaning, but reserve full baths for
twice a year routines and as absolutely needed. It is much better for their
skin.
