There is text below in case someone wasn't following
this... I don't see that dew claws or dew claw removal is even in the AKC
chihuahua standard. I'm assuming then it can be either way AKC wise with
Chis. I don't know why anyone would ever want to remove the front dew
claws if that's true (unless they were super floppy) If done on a pup,
there is no anesthesia and it's snip snip. Ouch and why? If done
with a spay, it's still going to hurt afterward. There is a bone in there
and that would be pretty ouchy after. (am I right on the vet would be cutting
bone?) I did see on say Scottish Terriers, the AKC standard is that "they
MAY have dew claws" That would mean either way. Here is the AKC
standard link if anyone wants to figure this out for me, loll =)
