My girls use a pee pad all the time -- they don't particularly like to go
outdoors. I work from a home office, so I'm home all the time, and my
chihuahuas are with me, but when I'm gone, I don't crate the girls. The
only time they're ever crated is in the car. They're very reliable with the
pee pads.
