reminds me of a chi I use to have. He would never use the bathroom in the house (as he got old, he became unable to hold it and would actually cry when he had an accident) One year we went on vacation and left instructions for my grandma to go open the door twice a day to let him go potty. However, he didn't trust her and would not go out!! We were gone for a week. He actually held it for more than 2 days till finally an uncle put on some leather gloves (he would bite people he didn't know) and actually forced him outside to potty, lol. The next day, my grandma didn't know what to do again, so she pushed him out with a broom and then put a milk crate over him till he pottied!! lol. I know it sounds cruel, but she was old and didn't know what else to do and Joe was small enough to fit comfortably under a milk crate. But he did go more than 2 days without using the bathroom because he would NOT go in the house. She had to stay home the day of my Grandmother's funeral last month and she held it for 14 hrs. We have a dog door, but she refuses to believe it is for her use too. She watches my other two dogs go in and out all day. (She used a dog door at the Shelter before I got her) Anyhow, when we got home, she came to say hi and then went back to her bed. I had to go and get her to take her out. I think she definitely could have held it longer. I did feel bad leaving her for that long, but had no choice. I had a Pomeranian years ago and she held it once for 20 hrs. We were staying at a hotel and she just didn't feel comfortable enough to pee when I walked her. I think because she wasn't sure of her surroundings.
