If a puppy is old enough to be separated from his mum, he's old enough to be
bathed, because you've got to take over for his mum washing him frequently.
A couple cautions, however. Make sure he's washed in nice warm water, with
a dog shampoo, NOT human shampoo. He MUST be thoroughly dried afterwards --
I towel dry my smooth coat girls, then go over them with a blow dryer (warm
but NOT hot) to make absolutely sure they're dry. Even then, I wouldn't let
him go outdoors for a couple hours.
Don't forget to clean ears and scrub his butt/genitals.
