Hi Michelle, One thing you can do about the stepping on problem is get a bell for his collar, so you can hear where he is, and not have to "look" for him. Then as others have suggested, when you don't want him underfoot, put him in an xpen for a bit. Also reward him with attention when he's not whining, and try to ignore him as much as possible when he is whining. You could even do clicker training and click and treat when he is quiet in the beginning to help him be motivated. Shell
