Jeannine, It really does hurt to think about giving him up. I have tried to take care of him the best I could, and when he's good, he's a really sweet dog. He loves sitting in my lap when I'm at the computer. I will miss him if I have to give him up! I have another little dog, an elderly toy poodle, and I have had to separate them at times because Max is aggressive about food as well.
I am really sorry you had to give up your dog, and I know it will break my heart if I have to give him up. I have asked the folks I board him with about giving him up before and neither one of them was particularly optimistic about finding him another home.
