Sheila, Thanks, yes it's tough. Maybe you can work with yours and he'll act differently. I worked with mine for 2 years and she just got progressively worse. But she was also a different kind of dog. She never socialized with other dogs, stayed to herself. Most maltese I've had are like that but not all are mean. Just the occasional dog. I have 2 now and they're fine. Jeannine
