This has been such a hectic time for me, financially, emotionally, you name it. Many of you may know about Dora and the fact that she broke her leg 4 months ago. For those of you who do not know, Dora is my Italian Greyhound. She is such a great little dog, but this breed has very weak legs. She broke her leg 4 months ago. We originally took her back to the lady who we got her from. She took Dora to her vet and even paid the original bill. After two follow ups, it was clear that the set and casting they had done was not working, so we then took her to my vet, who performed surgery and placed a pin in Dora's leg. The pin later bent. She was placed under anesthesia again and the pin straightened. We were hoping and praying for the best, but at her follow up Monday, x-rays show the pin is now broke. The only remaining option is a specialty surgeon in Lexington who can plate the leg. However, that surgery will cost in the neighborhood of $1,500. I do not have that kind of money and it is not fair for Dora to continue to suffer because I can not afford her treatment. My mom and I have decided to have the surgery and place the bill on CareCredit. The only problem is, Carecredit has very high interest rates and the payments are going to be difficult, if not impossible for us to meet. I have reached the end of my options and do not know what else to do. I have considered surrendering her so she can get the help she needs, but I love her so much and do not want to loose her. So I am attempting a fund raiser to try to raise funds for her surgery. Those of you who know me, know that I am not the type of person to ask for anything from others, but I am gonna swallow my pride and do what needs to be done for Dora.
